Firm Overview

Austin, Texas, Family Law Firm

When I opened my law practice in 1995, I committed myself to providing personal client service. I have maintained that commitment as my practice has grown over the years. With the help of my staff, I personally investigate, prepare, negotiate, and if necessary, try every case I take on. I pride myself on having a firm grasp of my clients' situations and their goals.

In the area of family law, I handle divorce settlements, child custody and visitation agreements, modifications of prior divorce and custody orders, enforcement actions, relocations, adoptions, name changes, prenuptial agreements and other matters. I am a founding member and the current president of the Austin Collaborative Law Group. Collaborative law is a new form of alternative dispute resolution for family law cases in Texas.

In addition to family law, I draft wills and other estate planning documents, and I represent clients in probate disputes such as will contests. In the area of construction law, I have represented general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and an engineer in a variety of cases, including bond claims under the McGregor Act involving public works projects, collection cases, professional liability and breach of contract cases.

I maintain a general litigation practice, representing various individuals or entities in business related litigation.

As an interested citizen and attorney, I have attended the Supreme Court Advisory Committee hearings on changes to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure pertaining to evictions, and I participated in the ad hoc committee meeting designed to help solve problems presented by the current eviction rules.

I am licensed in all Texas state courts and the United States District Court for the Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
